Role Overview:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major substation and infrastructure project in Cardiff.

The successful Engineer will be responsible for setting out and supporting the delivery of a range of civil engineering works, including substation infrastructure, concrete bases, retaining walls, drainage and fencing.

You will also be responsible for taking levels, completing inspections, maintaining ITPs and producing accurate as-built information, working closely with the Site Manager and wider project team.

The project is expected to run until after Christmas, offering excellent continuity of work for the right candidate.

Key Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure.
* Strong setting-out and surveying experience.
* Experience delivering concrete bases, foundations, retaining walls and drainage.
* Experience with ITPs, QA documentation and as-built records.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
* Ideally, own Total Station.
* Own surveying tools, equipment and accessories required for setting out and taking levels.
* Good understanding of site surveying and dimensional control.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Relevant civil engineering/infrastructure experience.

Responsibilities:

* Carry out setting out for civil engineering and substation works.
* Establish and maintain accurate control points and benchmarks.
* Use Total Station and associated surveying equipment to set out works and take levels.
* Set out concrete bases, foundations, retaining walls, drainage, fencing and associated infrastructure.
* Undertake dimensional checks and ensure works are constructed to drawings and specifications.
* Complete and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
* Produce accurate as-built surveys and records.
* Check levels, coordinates, line and level throughout construction.
* Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers, subcontractors and the wider project team.
* Identify and report any discrepancies or technical issues.
* Maintain accurate engineering and site records.
