Our client is a skilled civil subcontractor operating across the UK and holds over 15 years of experience within the construction industry, they have an extensive amount of experience working on developments across various core sectors however withhold specialties operating in groundworks, drainage and hard landscaping.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to play a key role in overseeing the onsite team on a city centre drainage scheme in Newcastle. This role encompasses the coordination and supervision of direct labour, and effective management of plant and material logistics within the challenges of a busy wider environment. You will be responsible for maintaining precise documentation, preparing clear progress reports, and ensuring consistent communication with stakeholders, while contributing significantly to the safe, timely, and successful delivery of the project.

What We're Looking For

Relevant Qualifications:

* CSCS Card
* SMSTS
* First Aid - Desirable not essential

Experience:

* Strong history of working with leading construction contractors or subcontractors
* Previous experience of successfully managing groundworks or drainage schemes
* Extensive experience within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working as a Site Manager, with a groundwork background

Key Skills:

* Competent IT / software skills
* Extensive Health and Safety knowledge
* Effective communication skills, verbal and written
* Ability to organise and manage project schedules
* Proven ability to lead, support, and direct a team effectively
* A solid understanding of relevant regulations and standards
* In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and building processes
* Exceptional focus on detail to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications

Key Responsibilities

* Inductions
* Tool box talks
* Site safety inductions
* Liaise with external stakeholders
* Working closely with the onsite Engineer
* Conduct and attend routine site meetings
* Address any problems or disputes that arise throughout
* Oversee package expenses, maintaining alignment with the budget
* Reporting regularly and consistently to the Visting Contracts Manager
* Comply with health and safety regulations throughout all work operations
* Recognise possible threats to the works, implementing strategies to address them
* Coordinate and manage daily site activities, overseeing workers, subcontractors, and suppliers
