Site Engineer


The Company

One of Shetland's largest Construction companies that have created a management structure and workforce that specialises in all types of construction with an annual turnover of approximately £8m.

The Project

As a highly experienced Site Engineer you will be overseeing works on a large exciting infrastructure project in Shetland accurately setting out the works on site and checking the works set out by others to ensure that the design specification and tolerances are achieved. You will play a crucial role within the team and wider business to ensure that all works are continuously completed to specification, in budget and on time.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following qualifications as a minimum;

* HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering
* SMSTS
* First Aid
* CSCS Card

It is also desired that you hold the skills & experience below;

* 3 Years+ experience in a Site Engineering role
* Ability to use standard setting out equipment, specifically a total station and GPS rover

Duties

* Drainage
* Surveying
* Setting Out
* Problem solving
* Quality checking
* Marking out repair areas
* Reporting on site project
* Liaising with the site team
* Undertake building surveys
* Overseeing engineering work
* Ordering of materials and plants
* Adhere to current H&S regulations
* Create as built surveys and log data
* Manage parts of the construction site
* Attend and contribute in project related meetings
* Preparing site reports and filling in other paperwork
* Management of onsite labour including subcontractors
* Liaising with the Site team to provide technical guidance
* Provide progress updates to The Senior Management Team
* Use of and responsibility for engineering software / equipment
* Provide Technical Advice to Project Team members and Clients
* Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly
* Ensuring quality and environmental standards are met and recorded accurately
* Operate, manage and have full responsibility for all setting out equipment / software - minimum expectations are EDM and Electronic Levelling equipment, enabling transfer/interpretation of CAD information
