Rail Document Controller

The Project

As an accomplished Rail Operations Document Controller you will be co-ordinating project documentation on Rail Civil Projects in the North West ranging in value from £5 to £30m. You will assist and guide the team to ensure client satisfaction whilst having tight control of project budget and time scale.



Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

* Competent with Microsoft Word and Excel
* 2 years' experience as Document Controller or similar role

It is also essential that you hold the experience below;

* Experience and / or knowledge using Aconex EDMS
* Experience and/or knowledge using ProjectWise EDMS
* Experience of managing and coaching other information managers

The Role

* Job Title: Document Controller (Rail Operations)
* Job Type: Permanent
* Project: Rail Civil Projects in the North West from £5 to £30m
* Reporting to: Project Manager, Design Manager, Engineering Manager



Duties

* Safekeeping of confidential documents
* Maintaining a record of document transmittal in and out of the project team
* Collating, distributing, issuing of reports, drawings and other technical documents to clients and suppliers
* Coordinating all activities relating to the document control procedure, including but not limited to design drawings, technical documents, specifications, project plans and construction records
* Ensuring that controlled copies of the latest approved documents and drawings are issued to the appropriate project team members; staff, subcontractors and suppliers as applicable
* Competent with Microsoft Excel and Word packages. Experience with ProjectWise and Aconex data management systems desirable but not essential (training can be provided)
* Ensure numbering and labelling documents are to Employers Information Requirements (EIR) or other such project/client specific specifications
* Liaising with and supporting the project team to maintain document control procedures to ensure documents meet requirements
