The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to support the delivery of a major student accommodation development in Manchester. The successful candidate will oversee mechanical subcontractors and site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard. Working closely with the project team, you will manage mechanical installations, coordinate labour and materials, and support testing, commissioning, and handover.

Relevant Qualifications:

* SMSTS
* Valid CSCS Card
* First Aid at Work

Experience:

* Strong track record managing mechanical subcontractors and direct labour on live construction projects
* Proven industry expertise with a track record of overseeing mechanical packages, including HVAC, plumbing and building services installations, on major residential developments

Key Skills:

* Competent IT and software skills
* Extensive health and safety knowledge
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to organise and manage project programmes and site activities
* Proven ability to lead, support and manage subcontractors and site teams effectively
* Solid understanding of relevant mechanical regulations, standards and industry best practices
* Strong understanding of mechanical installation methods, materials and building services processes
* Excellent attention to detail, ensuring works are delivered in line with quality standards, specifications and commissioning requirements
* Strong mechanical building services knowledge, including HVAC, plumbing and pipework installations

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee and coordinate mechanical subcontractors on site
* Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work are followed
* Maintain accurate site records and reporting documentation
* Manage direct operatives and daily mechanical site activities
* Support testing, commissioning, snagging and handover activities
* Identify and resolve site issues to minimise programme disruption
