We are currently recruiting for an experienced QA Engineer to join a well-established civil engineering contractor based in Wakefield. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background in highways, infrastructure, or similar civil engineering projects, looking for a long-term freelance role with the possibility of a permanent position.

Responsibilities

* Carry out regular quality assurance inspections and site compliance checks.
* Develop, implement, and manage QA processes using digital platforms such as Procore.
* Review and process As-Built drawings and project documentation.
* Ensure works are delivered in accordance with Project Management Plans and quality standards.
* Monitor and manage subcontractor quality performance and compliance.
* Maintain accurate QA records and support continuous improvement across projects.

Requirements

* Industry-recognised qualification such as ONC/HNC, NVQ, or BEng in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
* Previous experience in a QA Engineer role within civil engineering, highways, or infrastructure projects.
* Strong understanding of construction quality assurance processes and setting out.
* Experience using digital QA/document control platforms such as Procore is advantageous.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
