Site Engineer - North / North East

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Company Van + Equipment + Overtime

We are recruiting for a Site Engineer to join a growing civil engineering contractor delivering a wide range of projects across the UK.

The role will involve working as the lead engineering presence on site, taking responsibility for setting out, surveying, quality assurance, and supporting project delivery from start to finish. Current workloads are particularly strong in the North East, so candidates should be comfortable with regular travel and working away from home when required. Premium overtime rates are available for periods spent away.

You'll be provided with everything needed to perform the role, including a company van, surveying equipment, laptop, and CAD licence.

Projects are focused on civil engineering and infrastructure works within live construction environments, including education, healthcare, public sector and specialist developments. Typical works include groundworks, drainage, foundations, reinforced concrete, external works, site infrastructure and enabling works. There is no housing or residential development work involved.

Key Responsibilities:

* Setting out and site surveying
* Managing QA and as-built records
* Supporting site teams and subcontractors
* Monitoring works against drawings and specifications
* Liaising with project management and client teams
* Maintaining accurate engineering documentation

Requirements:

* Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or groundwork projects
* Competent with setting out equipment and surveying techniques
* Ability to work independently as the primary engineer on site
* Full UK driving licence
* Willingness to travel and work away from home as project demands require
