Job Title: M&E Commercial Manager

Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire (Hybrid Working)

Salary: £75,000 to £85,000 + £5,500 Car Allowance + Hybrid Working + Package

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced M&E Commercial Manager to oversee the financial and commercial management of M&E installation packages on retail projects ranging from £100k to £1m on a nationwide basis. This role involves commercially managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on budget control, ensuring project profitability.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* Proven experience as an M&E Commercial Manager with a Tier 1 Contractor
* Proven experience managing a commercial team
* Strong expertise in cost control, forecasting, valuations and CVRs
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-specific commercial tools
* Degree or HNC / HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction or a related discipline

DUTIES:

* Report directly to the M&E Director, providing clear and timely commercial updates
* Act as the primary commercial point of contact for clients, demonstrating a professional, solutions-focused approach
* Manage all commercial aspects of M&E packages from tender stage through to final account
* Support pre-construction activities including enquiries, take-offs, and pricing exercises
* Lead subcontract procurement, negotiation, and contract administration
* Monitor project performance, track variations, and manage change control processes
* Work closely with operations teams to ensure cost, quality, and programme compliance
* Prepare accurate monthly cost, valuation, and forecasting reports (CVRs, cashflow, and risk analysis)
* Implement and maintain commercial procedures, identifying opportunities for process improvement
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
* Support project handovers, final accounts, and project close-out documentation
* Conduct risk assessments and proactively manage commercial risks on projects
* Ensure adherence to legal, contractual, and statutory requirements
* Mentor and support junior commercial staff, sharing best practices and developing capability within the team
* Analyse commercial performance data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improvement
* Collaborate with project teams on value engineering, cost-saving initiatives, and programme optimisation
