About the Company

Our client a leading contractor specialising in healthcare provide new build and refurbishment projects across the UK including medical spaces & mobile theatres to live clinical environments.

The Opportunity

As an experienced Design Manager, you will have a key role in the design process of new build healthcare projects. You will be based from the Head office in East Yorkshire, with occasional travel to sites across the region. You will lead and coordinate the full design process, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure projects align with client requirements and regulatory standards. This role carries responsibility for maintaining exceptional design quality, ensuring all elements are delivered with accuracy, consistency, and efficiency to meet project objectives.

What We're Looking For

Relevant Qualifications:

* Industry Related Degree / Equivalent Level Qualification - Desirable not essential
* CSCS Card - Desirable not essential

Experience:

* Proven track record of working on new build / refurbishment projects in the healthcare sector is highly advantageous
* Extensive background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working in a Design Management or similar position for a leading construction contractor or subcontractor

* Excellent sales and presentation skills
* Ability to multitask and prioritise projects
* Strong communication skills with impressive attention to details
* Indication of strong interpersonal and people management skills
* Proficient in utilising design tools and software, with meticulous attention to detail
* Thorough working knowledge of design frameworks, codes, and standards, specifically in healthcare environments

* Progress reporting / monitoring
* Chair regular design team meetings
* Create and sustain the projects design management plan
* Deliver support and technical guidance to clients and stakeholders
* Identify possible design obstacles and develop practical, forward-thinking solutions
* Manage design modifications, ensuring that changes are accurately documented and communicated
* Develop and execute design strategies ensuring they align with project objectives and business goals
* Contribute to team success by supporting others and fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusivity
