Commercial Lead


The Company

Our client is a major main construction and engineering contractor with 100 years' experience in the industry; they have an impressive private and public portfolio of major build, civil and rail projects with values in excess of £200m+. They are a trusted and driven organisation who are strongly cash positive with a healthy track-record of profit growth.

The Project

As a highly experienced Senior Commercial Manager, you will head up the commercial and contractual aspects of two major projects in the North East with build values in excess of £200m+. You will serve as an integral member of the senior leadership team, playing a pivotal role in guiding the financial strategy, contractual management and overall commercial success of the projects.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following experience;

* Extensive background, 10 years minimum with a proven track record of success on major projects with a proven Major Main Contractor or Subcontractor

* A solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques

The Role

Duties

* Prepare financial reports
* Develop and manage project budgets
* Monitor and report on project progress
* Provide input on cost-saving measures
* Participate in proposal and bid processes
* Manage any changes or variations to contracts
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities
* Identify and assess potential risks to the project
* Implement strategies to mitigate and manage risks
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
* Monitor project financial performance and profitability
* Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and terms
* Oversee the procurement process for materials and services
* Provide input on business strategies based on market analysis
* Manage legal aspects related to contracts, disputes, and claims
* Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
